Pentecostal Publishing House (PPH) is the leading ministry resource center and the official publishing entity of the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI). The Pentecostal Publishing House and is the largest publisher of Apostolic Pentecostal books and resources in the world. PPH publishes and distributes both print and Kindle books on doctrine, Christian living and Spiritual gifts. The purpose of the Pentecostal Publishing House is to advance the cause of spreading the whole gospel to the whole world through the production and dissemination of religious knowledge, useful literature, and spiritual information in the form of books, tracts, periodicals, and more. Both Pentecostal Publishing House and the United Pentecostal Church International are headquartered in Weldon Spring, Missouri.

Redesigning PPH’s Initial Shopify Plus Store

UPCI asked BlueBolt’s Creative Design team to redesign their original Shopify Plus theme into a storefront that would compete against all modern publishing companies

BlueBolt worked with long time partner, ReCharge, to implement easy subscription payments and reporting

For the Pentecostal Publishing House redesign, our creative team delivered a beautiful new homepage which included an updated logo, updated navigation menu, revised colors for menu and buttons, and an updated user experience. Also included in the design is an evergreen “God’s word for life” section with custom animated imagery with a very prominent position on the home page. The animations help convey a narrative story within the design and create a sense of delight with the user. The new design also highlights best selling products and top selling authors on the home page.

Our BlueBolt development team completed some custom work in the backend of Shopify Plus to align members with their quarterly subscription, regardless of when in the quarter the subscription was purchased. Our team also worked closely with the team at ReCharge to ensure subscription payments flowed correctly as well. Lastly, our team implemented their blog, which is a standalone website, into the home page so that users could quickly access that content.

Designing Success

The redesign of Pentecostal Publishing House was a big success! While delivering an updated website design is a great sales and marketing strategy, this one truly delivered on all data tracked in Google Analytics. The best results include a 103% increase in views in the first month post launch, an 83% increase in tracked events also in the first month post launch and a 30% increase in user engagement time month over month. Next up for PPH and BlueBolt is creating new interior pages to better showcase PPH’s products.
